SILVER

2012–now, Photography Series

SILVER is an ongoing portrait project. As a balance between black and white, silver symbolizes equilibrium and stability. In photography middle gray is the universal measurement standard in photographic cameras. The SILVER series consist of pairings of people with gray hair with landscapes, spatial stills and cityscapes in order to create a new visual narrative exploring of the in-betweenness. Each portrait session takes about 2 hours during which the subjects are photographed in silence front of a white background. Later the portrait is carefully paired with an image based on it's RGB values of gray.
